La ceremonia de los Premios Óscar 2021 está prevista que sea en Los Ángeles el 25 de abril de 2021, dos meses después de la fecha original.
Los Premios Óscar 2021 originalmente estaban programados para el 28 de febrero de 2021, pero la ceremonia número 93 de los Premios de la Academia se pospusieron hasta el 25 de abril de 2021.
La medida dará lugar a un cambio temporal en el período de elegibilidad para los Óscar, lo que significa que la fecha límite estándar del 31 de diciembre se extenderá hasta el 28 de febrero. Las películas lanzadas hasta ese momento calificarán para el reconocimiento de premios.
“Durante más de un siglo, las películas han jugado un papel importante para consolarnos, inspirarnos y entretenernos durante los tiempos más oscuros”, dijeron el presidente de la Academia, David Rubín, y la directora ejecutiva de la Academia, Dawn Hudson, en una declaración conjunta.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas y Nick Jonas anunciaron las nominaciones al Premio de la Academia en una presentación en vivo de dos partes el lunes a través de una transmisión en vivo global.
La ceremonia se llevará a cabo en la ciudad de Los Ángeles en el Dolby Theatre el día 25 de abril, luego de haber sido postergada desde su fecha original del 28 de febrero.
Compitiendo por la mejor película están: “The Father,” “Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Mank,” “Minari,” “Nomadland,” “Promising Young Woman,” “Sound of Metal”y “The Trial of the Chicago 7.”
«Mank» de Netflix obtuvo 10 nominaciones principales, incluyendo nominaciones a mejor director (David Fincher), mejor actor (Gary Oldman) y mejor actriz de reparto (Amanda Seyfried), además de mejor película.
Dos mujeres fueron nominadas a mejor directora por primera vez como Chloé Zhao, por («Nomadland») y Emerald Fennell («Promising Young Woman»). Competirán contra Thomas Vinterberg («Another Round»), David Fincher («Mank») y Lee Isaac Chung («Minari»).
